Role: UX Visual Designer (Webflow)
Client: Morrison & Morrison, LTD.
Challenge
An accounting, tax and consulting firm called Morrison & Morrison, Ltd. had their previous site for 20+ years and their content management system (CMS) was intent ended to be discontinued by the end of the year (EOY.) The small firm did not have a creative department; all website maintenance updates were handled by IT and were not maintained on a consistent daily basis. I was hired as an administrative assistant also looking to build her portfolio in UX Design. I was offered the responsibility to execute the new site within a small budget and a short deadline.
The Ask
Design a low maintenance site and choose a platform that would be easy to use without much knowledge of coding or design practices. This would allow the IT department or stakeholders to maintain their site beyond project completion.
User Personas
The accounting, tax and consulting firm had their previous site for 20+ years and they had many long-term clients that were familiar with the previous layout of the site. Most were over the age of 65, retired and were very wealthy.
They recently hired a third-party to design their new branding. They were looking to attract a new clientele or retain their current clients with their beneficiaries typically the next generation over the age of 45.
They also wanted an appealing career resources page as they moved into a new office space to expand their workforce. Typically, students right out of college that have completed their CPA.
Prepared Wireframes & Lo-Fi Prototype
Sketched out wireframes on pieces on paper (not pictured) and prepared a presentation to showcase stakeholders the progress of the development by identifying the user journey in a lo-fi prototype.

Wireframe and Lo-Fi Prototype Presentation

Outcome
Without the time limit I had and resources, I went straight from building the Lo-Fidelity prototype, skipping the user research, and into the visual design on Webflow. After many conversations with stakeholders and revisions, the stakeholders and I were happy to publish the 50+ page site. I soon joined CDW as a Digital Content Specialist and I was unable to track the analytics of the site. Key Takeaways
A lot of my user research testing was done by myself and after my Google Coursera UX Design Course, I have learned that it is best to run a series of UX research studies on both the the lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes to groups that fit the target audience.
